Adrenal, Thyroid & Pancreas Connection

by Heiner Lotze

‘Adrenal Burnout’ can be due to a genetically unstable thyroid (hypo- or hyper- thyroidism) combined with an extremely sensitive Pancreas. In this genetic makeup adrenal glands have to be seen in conjunction with thyroid and pancreas.

General Symptoms:
Irritable, restless, impatient, aggressive, depressed, insomnia, headaches, dizziness, feeling cold,
Skin: Dry, unclean
Liver: Constant toxic overload, tiredness, bile backlog, sudden wakeup between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m., shallow breathing, oxygen deficiency
Blood pressure: Very low mornings rising during the day
Menstruation: Heavy bleeding for 3-4 days
Libido: No sex drive
General advice for stabilizing Thyroid, Pancreas and Liver, which will result in adrenal calm-down and balance:
No grain products. Grains (bread, cake, biscuits, pasta, rice) should be avoided. It is vital not to increase blood sugar with hyperglycaemic products (grains, sugar, jams) but to elevate the glycogen level in the liver, which will time-release glycogen as required throughout the day. This will keep the liver in a balanced state. This can be achieved only with high quality amino acids (proteins). Only with plenty of high quality proteins in the diet the liver will be able to perform well and detoxify.
To achieve this, a snack containing high quality protein should be eaten every 4-5 hrs. Any carbohydrates, in particular grains, will increase blood sugar immediately, but will last only for 30-60 minutes, thereafter blood sugar level crashes again. Before bedtime: No sugar, honey, jams, sweets, grains. Instead proteins should be eaten, which will guarantee a good nights sleep.

Adrenal ‘burnout’ could be because of a thyroid-pancreas problem. Adrenals will not produce steroids as required by the body. This will reflect on low Cortisol (prone to infections), low testosterone (no sex drive), unbalanced oestrogen levels (heavy periods, mood swings) and major liver problems.

Solution:
Liver cleansing soup: Green beans, celery, zucchini, parsley. Make a thick soup and eat twice daily for 4 weeks between or instead of main meals.
Eating a high protein diet and avoiding grains whenever possible.
Vitamin supplements: B12, B5, C
Essential: Hormonal support with bio-identical Progesterone.
Progesterone cream: Ask your health professional for exact dosage and schedule.
